Gabrielle Vasey is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Economics. Her dissertation studies the tradeoffs that middle school students in Mexico face when deciding between enrolling in school, joining the labor force, or balancing both. The impact of working on the amount of time a student devotes to studying is also analyzed, as is the effect of conditional cash transfers.
Gabrielle received her B.Sc. from St. Francis Xavier University in 2014 and her M.A. from Western University in 2015.
